62 with a dew of 35 as of 2pm. Could outlying areas get into the upper 30s by morning? Most folks should stay in the 40s otherwise I would think. Gonna be interesting for sure! A lovely afternoon in progress IMO. I like the cool breeze! It's a good day for getting things done outside (if I wasn't working lol).

We turn active next week thanks to the upper low and then an eventual NW flow pattern gets going to keep the hits on coming! No boring weather for sure or extended hot / dry stretches at this time. I think we'll go into June on the cooler and stormier side as well. How long does it last before the heat comes, remains to be seen.

Hey Les, I guess so much for the tropical influence for now in the extended. As you said a very active pattern coming. I just wonder if a ring of fire/MCS pattern will set up eventually later this spring/early summer?

No ring of fire for a while, still in spring mode with just troughs periodically dropping into the mid section of the country. No extended dry spells in sight ((3-4 weeks)

I agree with what Bgoney said. Maybe by later in June or July? We will have to see how strong the Bermuda High gets once we get towards summer.

Good Morning and what a beautiful weekend in store. Still looks busy next week and though I usually don't mention chances for severe weather 5-7 days away starting Thursday with a warm front some storms that could at least be strong and maybe not severe but Friday has that look of a decent severe outbreak for us locally. With temps rising in the mid 80's on Friday and a front heading this way I got this uneasy feeling that could spell a decent outbreak of severe weather for us. Still will need to watch the timing and see if this signal continues but the pattern later next week for this time of year does increase chances for severe weather.

Great post Tim and to your point, the SPC already has the area just to our West highlighted for Day 6 (Thursday). I would expect that threat area to expand in coverage in the coming days as we hone in on that system. The upper low comes at us Mon and Tues in the short term, then we get the severe wx risk for Thursday and Friday. End of next week def has a stormy signal from this distance.

Good Morning and Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms. Upcoming week looks busy and more rain in the forecast. How much rain once again will be tough to gauge so I am going with near an inch Monday-Wednesday. Late in the week we have the first taste of summer and how high can the temps go Thursday and Friday.I am going mid-80's because of the lush vegetation not expecting any higher as some models try to get us a tad warmer. No doubt it will be humid and with the added rainfall this week dew points easily in the 60's. With the dew points higher this helps us in getting a better shot of at least strong if not severe storms. I believe Friday evening has that look of an outbreak to the west of us and how quickly does that move in here. Still a timing issue and will watch this through the week.

Good Morning and a rather busy but somewhat complicated forecast this week. Reason is with these lows that get away from the jet stream have a mind of their own and just sort of rotate around our area through Wednesday. Because of that you will see a wider range in rain totals though I believe everyone gets in on the action plus this time of year the flow the GOM is in decent shape so any showers can produce some decent totals at times. Thursday looks dry before a cold front moves in late Friday or early Saturday. Timing is key in this though latest trends is for the severe threat to be less than I thought with the front.

Next week looks busy and really for the remainder of May the eastern half of the country looks wet at times and this is good heading into June because a dry May can easily start a hot summer but at this point we look to be wet enough is the northern and central plains eastward. Yes summer will no doubt get going in the southern plains but really this is normal for them and they can become quite dry and hot for the summer season.

Looks like another cool shot sometime next week but that can mean some upper 40's possible but nowhere near low enough for frost.

Breaks in the clouds with brief periods of sunshine moving into cvgland should lend support for more vigorous rain showers later this morning and afternoon

Showers building over SE KY will be moving in our direction due to the rotation around the upper low and should arrive as Bgoney mentioned, later today. Some weak CAPE from SC KY on south right now.

Great Post Bgoney and yes a mix of spring and summer with regards to possible rainfall. Totals will be different in many spots and that is why pinning down a total for everyone is almost impossible. I went with an inch Mon-Wed as a general total but again if you get hit with several showers that total can go higher and if you miss those of course lower. Not a 3 day system that brings heavy rain to everyone but hopefully enough to have everyone get in on some of these showers.

CVG is now reporting light rain. Must be sprinkles, since I am not seeing anything falling here. Some steadier action is getting ready to move in from the SE. Looks like a wet afternoon ahead.
