With ILN issuing 2 WWAs for the region earlier in the week for snow showers that actually affected a very small percentage of the region, they pretty much have to issue one for tomorrow, since vigorous snow showers will probably affect a higher percentage than the previous two advisories and with higher winds to boot

That's awesome for you guys in the southeast. I wouldn't be surprised, in my opinion, to see some 3-4 inch amounts in Brown and Adams counties. Especially the southern half of those counties. Especially when factoring in the snow showers and squalls that will develop after the synoptic snows.

Good Afternoon and one last post before football kicks off. No changes at all and should be fun to see how this plays out. Ratios may start out 12-1 but should go quickly up to 20-1 and that is why we can see some accumulation with this system. Fun to see where the snow squalls set up on Sunday and it will be hard to predict to far in advance but I could see a few snow squall warnings happen and with these you can get a quick inch in 1/2 hour and the roads become icy and visibility during the squall can be quite low. Get the cold established and then we can work on the extended forecast

I assume the inevitable Cold Weather Warning is being held off while there is an Advisory in place?

Edit - Just read this in forecast discussion:
More data for the warning/advisory decision is needed in
the upcoming model runs. Either way, the key message is very
cold conditions are on the way.

Good evening all! No changes from me. Up to an inch for Cincy and 1-2"+ in the SE zones. We'll see how it goes! I'm home watching football too. Go Houston and of course My Lions!!!

A difficult dilemma concerning the NFL playoffs. I certainly want Kansas City to lose and I do want them to lose bad and I do want it to hurt however, I think the only team that really has a legitimate chance is Baltimore. I don’t think Buffalo has the horses to beat Kansas City. Thus the dilemma having to root for Baltimore.

Awesome Charles! Go get 'em! Not a flake to be had here from the synoptic system (I didn't expect anything anyway) so I am awaiting to see if Lake Michigan can whiten the ground this afternoon.

Good morning all! Well it isn't for me due to the Lions loss.

Back to the weather and how you are guys in the SE doing this morning? Nothing here near CVG as we await to see what happens off of Lake Michigan this afternoon. Dry and cold this week. Maybe some snow Friday otherwise a warming trend will come.

25 with a dew of 17 here. Still zilch for new snow. As the system snow continues to get cranked up over Eastern areas and the Apps.... radar is lighting up over Central IN as the lake snows get going. That is our chance in isolated fashion to get up to 1" of new snow. Between this and the system snow over the SE, that is why i went higher with 1-2" since those areas can get snow from both sources.

SPS from the boys:

...SNOW SHOWERS LIKELY THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY EVENING...

An arctic cold front will move through the area this afternoon
and evening, bringing snow showers and much colder air. While
accumulations will generally be less than one half inch, quick
bursts of snow will result in reductions in visibility and slick
conditions at times. Some snow squalls are possible, which could
lead to locally difficult travel conditions.

Everyone is now under a Cold Weather Advisory from tonight thru Wed morning.

...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM MONDAY TO 10 AM
EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Indiana, northeast and northern
Kentucky, and central, south central, and southwest Ohio.

* WHEN...From 1 AM Monday to 10 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could
result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Very cold
temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Yea , forecast looks good . Should still get those snow showers. Radar looking good out Indy way for those to come into Ohio later. Those noisey models with the higher qpf moisture from the Appalachia event quieted down at the last minute

Agreed... On our forum, we thought it was probably overdone, and it was. Dry air for the win on that.

There is a chance that after the Southern US snow event early next week occurs, there will be some sort of snow cover on the ground in portions of all 48 CONUS states. :) That does not happen often.

We should be seeing some snow showers / squalls over parts of our SE Indy counties. Report in for duty and let us know how things are going. :)
