On a side note: I wish our top catcher Tyler Stephenson could stay healthier as he's had a concussion, a broken thumb and now a broken clavicle. He's been placed on the 60 day IL because he'll need surgery on his shoulder. Prayerfully he'll do well and is progged to be back in the rotation by Sept 20th or 21st.

Some good stats on the Reds from Lance McAlister - maybe we do have hope for the future lol:

* Since the dismal 3-22 start the Reds are 39-39.
* The last 3 starters for the Reds (all rookies) have pitched 20.1 innings, allowed one earned run, and struck out 18. They are the only team since at least 1913 to start 3 straight rookies and have them combine for 18+ innings and no more than one total earned run allowed.
* Reds have overtaken the Cubbies for third place in the division.
* Can't find this tweet, but it said if the season had started on May 15th (or somewhere near), the Reds would only be a half game out of first place now. Take that miserable month of April out and the Reds are actually competitive this year.

We lost 4-1. Next up is a date with the Tampa Bay Rays in Detroit. 7:10pm Thurs with Drew Hutchison to get it going.
