A little too far out yet, but it does look to be cooler then normal for temps at this time. For rain, so we get a cut off low or not? That is what we will need to be watching.

Temps are in the mid to U70s now with dews in the lower 60s. You can feel the stickiness out there! However, as Bgoney mentioned, due to low wind shear, we aren't expecting any organized storms, just scattered coverage today.

Getting some thunder here. Might get clipped by a downpour here shortly. Shoot. I wanted to mow after work today since the chances tomorrow are higher then today. The new grass seed could use the water so I won't complain.

Pouring at my house. I thought maybe the storm would miss me to the south.

Raining now, but it isn't going to last long. I still should be able to mow as long as we don't get anymore downpours after this one lol

Rainfall totals:

0.27" - CVG
A tenth here
Boone Co mesonet site: Nothing

I'd have to give a nod to the Euro for today's forecast.

Looks like no mowing today. Too wet. If it rains again tomorrow then it'll be Sat or Sun afternoon. Currently hearing more thunder and it is sprinkling also. Big cell should miss to my West. My Brother did great mushroom hunting today so I am going out with him on Sunday before Cooper's soccer game that evening to have a go at it.

Similar to a July/August scattered shower day. Brief heavy downpours and they rain themselves out in 30 minutes without the shear to keep them going for to long. A light shower moving in here atm

Good morning all! I think the coverage will be a bit better then yesterday and we'll see more chances today thru tonight. Agree on similar amounts in that 1/4 to 1/2" range. CVG picked up an additional 0.16" overnight for a new event total of 0.49". We could get close to an inch after tonight in a few places that get hit both days. No severe wx is expected. Then we can enjoy a dry and cool weekend. :)

Good Morning and another day with rain and thundershower chances. More of a late spring pattern and some folks yesterday got very little but I believe south of here a cell sat for quite a long time and even a flash flood warning was issued. Tons of moisture available so if you are under a cell even for a short period of time the totals can add up. By the time we get to Saturday morning totals for the Thurs-Sat morning will have quite a range though my guess .5-1.0 for many folks. We go from a late spring pattern today towards a more mid-spring pattern over the weekend and temps mainly in the 60's and at night possible to get near 40 and maybe upper 30's in outlying areas Sunday and Monday morning.

Next week it becomes more active but still need to get the timing on possible rainy periods. Severe weather at this time looks low for a widespread outbreak but again any cell can become severe.

SPC still has a severe risk out for everyone on Tues of next week. Timing of the front will be of concern in terms of how strong cells can get.

An update from the boys for today:

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Morning update was centered on timing the very slow newd movement of
an area of showers with isold/sct embedded thunder. First area is
located south of metro Cincinnati and extends ewd along the Ohio
River and will affect the CWA southeast of I-71 corridor,
particularly south of Circleville through 2 pm. The next area has a
leading edge that will skirt the northwest CWA generally along/nw of
Richmond-Versailles-Wapak line. The line of cities represents a se
section of the area that appears to be peeling apart towards the
main body to the wnw. Between these two sections is a break in
activity for a few hours that is followed by prevailing moderate
rainfall that looks to be located from downtown Cincy to the
northwest to Connersville and Cambridge City in east central IN.

Lowered high temperatures in the southwest 1/3 of CWA given the
prevailing rain that will inhibit any decent temperature rises this
afternoon. Previous discussion:

It appears that another enhancement will push across the area during
the mid to late afternoon., so there will be plenty of showers
about. The question is how much does this limit instability and it
appears that it could be quite a bit. So while there will be some
thunderstorms, not expecting that activity to be as widespread as the
showers. If instability remains limited with modest shear at best,
then the potential for any stronger storms will be low.
