Waiting until Thanksgiving here per the usual. A lot of people do put theirs up early probably more now then ever before! Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes a little extra Christmas Spirit can be a good thing!

Picked two Kroger bags full of lunchbox peppers. I pulled the stalks out even though they were going strong, I’m done even though no killing freeze for another week I’m ready to put the garden to bed

A few mowers have been going off around here to kick off the 2025 season, but I have not mowed yet. I spent yesterday doing maintenance on the mowers making sure everything was ready for the new season. I was going to give it another week but with the expected rainfall, I may end up doing it Tues after work ahead of the Wed - Next weekend rain events.

I started some tomato and pepper plants in my 6x8’ greenhouse. Needless to say after last night’s winds , had 4 panels and the door blown off. Plants are fine but I’ll have to move them indoors under the lights until I can repair things .

Lawn mowing season 2025 is off and running IMBY. Lawn looks good and it wasn't as clumpy as I expected it to be so that was good. Minus the seeded areas, the rest of the yard looks great! Grass is a deep, dark green color and very lush! It will look good until June / July like every year LOL  I hope this summer is different in terms of precip.

For my 2025 gardening opener, I am waiting a couple more weeks for the spinach to finish maturing that I planted in the fall of 2024. Then I can start sowing the bean seeds! Afterwards the tomatoes, spice cabinet, flowers, blah blah blah... It won't be long!!!

Scratch the above post... I went ahead and cut the spinach on my lunch hour today and will plant some bush beans in its place after work today. That will kick off my season! I'll have to get the rest going in the next couple of weeks as time permits. I'm going to risk it, but if correct, I'll be picking beans before June is over with. :)

Latest model run’s aren’t as cold for the weekend, around 40 give or take a degree for the coldest models(gfs) and low/mid 40s EU. Tomatoes, peppers, potatoes are in and look awesome. Two stages of lettuce , onions and radishes look great. Cucumber plants aren’t mature enough yet and will probably wait a week to 10 days to plant. Had parts of the garden covered with a tarp to keep it dry so I could plant early with the warmth we’ve had. This weeks warmth should really keep things progressing as long we don’t get to much rain
