Quite the wind event as things passed through! We fared okay, but I saw a few houses around with a pieces of trim hanging and needing some repairs. Lots of branches scattered, mostly pine as no leaves yet.

Somewhat hard to measure, as the snow compacted itself along with the rain, but just under 3" at home. Rain is quickly tamping it down on hard surfaces.

Seeing they've adjusted the Winter Storm Warning back a few counties west after the fact. :roll: Feel like there was a little too much wishcasting ...

Somewhat related thought: Anyone else ever wonder why NWS puts out a warning 24hrs in advance of something they forecast is going to happen? Maybe I'm just grumpy because my weather radio was my morning alarm today. :sleeping:

Some thoughts regsrding the roads...pretreatment has its place. If we had received some light freezing rain and snow showers as forecasted, it would have helped keep the roads wet during the start of precipitation. I live over in Indiana, and the state does a lot of pretreatment to help out before ...

Sometime overnight freezing rain occurred. Everything has a nice base coat of glaze with some small icicles. My first look outside at 6am and it had already transitioned to sleet. Accumulating sleet at the moment. Outdoor temp says 29.

Approximately 10pm temperatures started dropping quickly here. Was 42, now currently right at the 32 mark.

Temp here just bumped up a degree, currently 43.

Visibility is going down out there, quite foggy right now.

Some of the models are hanging on to a bit of a mid level
deformation axis into Friday morning across southeast portions of
our area and this may allow for some lingering light snow. The 12Z
NAM has backed away from this though so will just continue to cover
this with chance pops attm.
