Heavy rain ahead of the front has already been happening north of us. This is your time to shine I-70 Crew because Ida's leftovers aren't give to give you all much rain at all. Everyone should be getting in on the act (or have a chance to) this afternoon. Then Cincy and esp SE Crew Tues into early Wed with Ida's leftovers.

Flood Watch in effect from the boys for the Tri-State area from noon today until late tonight. 1-3" of rain could fall in this time period alone.

Good morning and nice to see some rains for folks who need the rain. Flood watches out but today's watch locally is for heavy rain with the waves of rainfall expected with the front. Flood watches to the south is in effect for Ida and those start later tonight into early Wednesday.

Going to be nice with the cooler but so much less humid later this week. This will give us 3 days of wonderful weather before we start to see a rise in temps by the weekend though it will not be anything like we have just seen. If the tropics remains quiet near the USA I expect a chance of some even cooler air to arrive later next week but to early since their are a few tropical systems that could get going.

The lower humidity will feel great! August has been a warm one for sure! Seeing some lows in the 50s coming in with some 70s and low 80s. That's more like it! We should warm back into the mid 80s by Labor Day Weekend though. Then, we'll have to wait and see when the next front times itself out, followed by another shot of cooler air.

Radar looking good for folks in the Tri-state esp N of the river. Those of us in NKY to the south, we should get some action also this morning. Pretty active set up already today with the front trying to come in and Ida trying to push northbound.

0.61" for now. Looks like a break for my hood, but front is still to my NW. Will have to watch and see how slow or quickly this front will move through our area this afternoon. Will have a major impact on who sees the Ida round later tonight into tomorrow.

I've had a combo 2.60" within a 2 week period so my yard, flowers, and shrubbery are good to go for a while. :)

Was rudely awaken this morning by thunder. :) Picked up 4 tenths of an inch. Seeing cloudy skies with peeks of blue at the moment.

Thanks Les! Needless to say I am rooting for the slower front so we all can get some nice rains until we dry out later in the week. ;)

Wow that's awesome, Eric! I know your hood, like mine, has been quite dry for awhile now. If I could get another inch or so I would be golden....but will take a half inch too! LOL

Good morning, Mike! :)

It was like wave after wave of storms overnight, hadn't had that kind of set up in quite some time. :)

Awesome guys! Glad to hear you all have cashed in who have needed it. Or too much rain as in the case of CMH (right JP?) Light rain here and some thunder. Nothing very heavy yet which is fine by me. The heavier rains usually don't soak in to that hard KY clay anyway.

Flash flood warning in southern Owen County. No doubt my neighborhood should have been in one Friday for 2 hours and this shows with this much moisture and slow movement you can get hit hard and very quickly. Still hard to believe the 6 inches in 2 hours which is by far and away the most I have ever seen in such a short time period.

Got in late last night from a week long walleye fishing trip in Hornepayne, Ontario. Drove through copious amounts of water coming through Michigan and Ohio. Speed down to 45mph at times. Impressive lightning show as well. Over 3 inches in the gauge for the week+.

The bite was amazing with the minimal fishing pressure the last 2 years. We (2 people) caught just shy of 300 with most in the 17 to 20 inch range. I did manage to catch a 40" northern on a jig and a minnow....that was fun!!!
