I am not sure with all the moving plus I need to put up the weather station once again and the ground is soft enough so should be no problem. The system on the 19th gave me somewhere in the 3-4 inch range

I am hoping that Feb. will have a few tricks up its sleeve. Wouldn't that be something if we could actually make it back to normal?

Even the east coast aside from higher elevations inland continue to miss out due to marginal temps or really what are close to normal temps. Just like today’s mostly rain maker for them too aside from elevations. ‘Twas a rough January

As it stands right now.... We all over bid with our guesses. Bo is the closest with 19.6" We do have over a month to go for the contest but unless we see a March of 2008 re-do, Bo will most likely be our winner for this season.

Ouch! Barring some fluke system, I guess we will take our chances with another La Nina for the 2024-2025 winter. A weak ENSO state would be nice instead of this strong to super garbage that just does not ever bode well for us (whether it's a Nina or Nino).

As it stands, one of our worst 3 year stretch's since records began from what I can tell. Our current 3 year average would be 11.8, a virtual tie with , 2000-2003, and we have 87-89 coming in with an average of 11”

Yikes! This post / stats, really does put it into perspective how tough it has been to get snowfall. I remember the late 80s and early 2000s... those were lean times. Good winters did surround those lean periods though so hopefully, our winters will start trending upwards again starting with next season. One can only hope lol

Thanks Bgoney! Back-to-back trophies. Wish I was this lucky in real life. I'd like to thank El Nino for producing the crappy weather this Winter that led to this victory.

LOL! La Nina's have not been kind to us either. The problem has been strong to super status. If we can get something in a more weaker variety, then our winters would have a completely different outcome. We used to get weak to moderate events. Now it seems like all we get our extremes. Anyway congrats Bo! You basically won this contest prior to winter even starting now then we can use hindsight and look back.

Last year when I had less than double digit snowfall for the season , I foolishly thought I’d never see that again . Lo and behold this year comes around and is worse , standing at 6” .

Plenty of other regions nearly snowless that are more north than us. Boston current seasonal snowfall stands at 9.7" in the last 140 years < 10" has occurred only twice.

NYC Central Park has NEVER recorded < 10" in consecutive years and could very well break that

Places in the UP of Michigan in the snow belt areas that avg 200-300" a year are under 100" for the season this year. It's happened a time or two before but it's very rare! Some areas are snowless and seeing the ground and it's early March. Typically snow lingers on the ground a lot of times until sometime in May.

If I recall, Bo won our 90 degree day contest from last year and he has also won our snowfall contest for this winter! You are on a roll Bo! Let's see if you can capture the 90 degree day contest title again for this summer. Good luck! I will be posting that thread in another month or so from now. I will go ahead and unpin this thread since we are done with snow until next season.
